Liquid Mask - Max For Live Device
Liquid Mask is a continuously moving Spectral Filter that turns your sounds into new liquid-like ones.
Think of it as a lowpass/highpass/bandpass filter except the amplitude position of the frequency bins are being modulated to give a futuristic and wet effect.
The filter shape is either drawn by the user using a mouse or trackpad, or generated by the Shape Generator that comes with eight different algorithms adjusted by the XYZW knobs.
This device has four different quality modes, determined by FFT size; 512, 1024, 2048, and 4096. The lowest can sound digital and laser-y, while the highest can sound smooth, squeaky, and higher quality.
By default, the position is controlled by an LFO, but you can turn it off if you would like to automate your own patterns. This LFO, unlike live's native one, has a pulse width modulation (PWM) to customize the shapes of the provided waves to taste. The provided waves include Sine, Saw Up, Saw Down, Triangle, and Random Sample and Hold (S&H). The S&H can be adjusted to give a continuous wander effect with the Smooth knob. In addition, the frequency range of the LFO can be adjusted with the maximum and minimum percentages at the top of the device.
The Liquid Morph also has an optional Dirty mode, toggled by the "A/B" switch. This can sound really nice for distortion, and metallic sounds on the 4096 setting.
You can also get this device in the All Max For Live Devices Bundle, which includes every device I sell plus future ones at a significantly reduced price.
